As an educational leader, I can see how blogging provides an excellent outlet to embrace opportunity to build channels of communication and collaboration throughout the entire school community. I am eager to be a participant with blogging in this course and to learn how engaged it is as an interactive tool for others to share experiences, actions, and reflections on common issues in education.

21st Century Action Research Bound
What I gather from reading about Action Research in education, is that action research is a discipline of self reflective inquiry conducted by participants who take an organized look at a relevant research practice and journal what was done, why it was done, collect and analyze data, and reflect on how the outcome might influence future results.
I can see the value of using Action Research to guide school improvement or student performance. For example, when monitoring student performance, the process begins with looking at student data, identifying where they where and where they are now. The process may become very prescriptive as you begin to develop actions plans to meet the needs of the students based on their academic performances and psychosocial issues. Action research can lead educators to actual changes in behaviors if any are needed. Adjustments can be modified by educators for the effectiveness in instruction and in the development of learning for their students. After all, the end result is student learning with success.
As superintendent, I would empower my colleagues to become involved in Action Research. The process invites engaged collaboration on common best practices within the entire school community, one person, or a group of participants who share an interest in a common problem.
